In a wonderful development for the people of Ireland, we now celebrate 10 bank holidays a year, thanks to the latest St Brigid’s Day introduced in February 2023.

With our newest bank holiday here, behold a full list of all our days off for 2024.
While it’s more than previous years, Ireland still doesn’t match up with the amount ofpublic holidaysobserved by other European countries – such asItaly(12),Portugal(13) andDenmark(14).
St Brigid’s Dayfalls onMonday, February 5, and it will be the first bank holiday of 2024.
An extra day off work, the new bank holiday was introduced in 2023, much to the delight of workers nationwide.
Brigid is one of our three patron saints, along with the Patrick and Colmcille, with her national day traditionally celebrating renewal and the traditional start of spring in Ireland.
Following St Brigid’s Day we have everyones favourite, St Patrick’s Day, which will be observed on Monday, March 18 in 2024.
